The sofa is produced in a small family workshop by specialized craftsmen in many individual steps. The sturdy wooden frame forms the base on which the padded surfaces and the handcrafted pleats and buttons are built up. The cover fabrics are pet-friendly, easy to clean and tested for high durability with around seventy-five thousand Martindale cycles, as used in high-traffic areas. Each piece of furniture receives a sewn-in label with a handwritten serial number as a reference to its individual production process.

The surfaces can be cleaned in everyday use with a damp cloth, and dog hair can be removed with an upholstery brush. The cushion covers have zippers, are removable and machine-washable at thirty degrees on a gentle cycle; tumble-drying at low temperature is possible, dry cleaning and bleaching are not. The inner cushions made from orthopedic foam have an additional zippered cover layer to protect against dirt and must not be washed or dry-cleaned themselves. Hook-and-loop strips fix the cushions to the frame so they do not slip during use and can still be easily removed for cleaning.
